Congratulations are in order!

We would like to welcome two new youth Representatives for Sells District in Terrel Lopez (Sells) and Warren Mattias (Sells), who were elected on November 28 by their peers to represent Sells District on the Tohono O’odham Nation Youth Council. Their term begins at the end of December and an inauguration to follow. If you see them around, thank them for having an interest and choosing to serve the youth.

We couldn’t get here without also thanking the outgoing and for one returning Representatives Jasmine Stevens (soon to be Alternate) and Sophia Stevens both of Ge Oidag for all your efforts the past two years and in Representing the District. We wish everyone the best for what’s to come in 2019!

There remains one vacant spot to fill for an Alternate to Warren. Any interested youth can submit a letter of interest and preferably before or by DECEMBER 20 when the Sells District Council will formally recognize and approve them before their duties begin at the Youth Council.

Excited to announce the elections for a new term of Tohono O’odham Nation Youth Council Representatives for Sells District! This Wednesday at 6PM, the office will host a gathering for youth ages 13-25 to come learn more about the Youth Council and have the opportunity to cast their name to be the District Representative or Alternate. We will have food and drinks so invite your friends and run for one of 4 two-year terms! For more info. call 383-2281.
